+-Welcome to the PC Business Guide website

The goal of PCBusinessGuide.com is to be the ultimate online resource for starting, running, and expanding computer related businesses. If you own a computer repair shop, an onsite repair service, a managed service provider, website design firm, provide custom coding for customers, etc this site is for you. These forums replace and enhance the forums that were previously housed under PCBiz.org.

The PC Business guide is designed to offer a comfortable environment regardless of the stage of your business. The forums are divided into sections with various permissions. The technical support and starting a business forums are open to all members. The Business Expansion forums are restricted to members that are verified as owning a computer related business for at least 6 months. The reason for this is to provide a place where proven business owners can congregate online and safely discuss issues they face without customers seeing them. It also restricts the common startup questions to the general public areas of the forum.

I look forward to chatting with many friends and making new friends as this website develops.

The key factor to security and mitigating risk is often the most overlooked item: Knowledge and [...]

Don’t rely on the Windows Firewall
If you’re relying on the Windows Firewall to stop intruders, that’s the wrong approach to take; because if someone is trying to gain unauthorized access to your computer or network and all you have is the Windows Firewall and/or other software solutions to stop them; they’ve already hit your PC. Thus in my mind and [...]
Security In A Nutshell – The Grand Illusion
Security In A Nutshell – The Grand Illusion – Part I Security is not a setting, configuration, hardware, or software. Security is a mindset. It is a way of thinking, acting, and being, on a 24/7/365 basis with focus on every action and possible reactions. Even then, nothing is 100% secure…. it’s just some things [...]
